Oscar's Birthday Weekend

We had a weekend filled with Oscar birthday celebrations. We had an early start Saturday with Oscar running with the club and I walking with a neighbor and our girls, then meeting up all together at Starbucks for some post exercise chat and coffee. Then it was off to the Restaurant at Patowmack Farm for brunch, mmmm. This restaurant is easily our favorite restaurant. Not only is the food amazing (and organic) but the owner, Beverly, is like a friend. She's so great with us and our children, she makes each visit a wonderful memory. If you have the time for a five course dinner I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend dinner at the farm. No matter the season, dining in the greenhouse is beautiful. I would have to say that our Fall dinner there was remarkable, watching deer graze on the hillside, overlooking the Points of Rock Bridge and the colorful foliage. The rest of the day we enjoyed time as a family.

Sunday we took a fun family bike ride around the neighborhood, with a stop off at one of the parks so the girls could run around. Once we got home we had snack and playtime and Oscar got ready for some nice alone time to go windsurfing. He arrived home just in time for me to go to a friend's baby shower.

Monday was the actual Birthday, so I made the dinner he requested and his very favorite dessert, banana cream pie. Luli was very upset that we weren't having a party for Daddy. Clearly birthday = party. She then decided we would have a dinner party, seriously she told me we were. At her insistence we set the dining room table, made decorations to put on the chandelier and a nice big "Feliz Cumpleanos" banner for the girls to decorate. Plus both girls made drawings for Daddy. It was a fun weekend, and hopefully Oscar had a great birthday.
